ABOUT US

Our Beginning

A group of women with a desire to volunteer and assist hospice patients in San Antonio, Texas, came together in 1991. Their selfless act of kindness paved the way for an organization that would later be known as the Friends of Hospice San Antonio. The organization has since grown to encompass a larger group of volunteers and has expanded its services to include various areas such as patient care, bereavement support, and administrative duties. The commitment of these women to the well-being of hospice patients in San Antonio has made a significant impact in the lives of many families and individuals who have experienced the challenges of end-of-life care. Their efforts have inspired many others to volunteer and contribute to their community, and their legacy continues to be celebrated today.

Our Purpose

The primary purpose of Friends of Hospice San Antonio is to spread awareness about hospice care and its benefits to both members of the organization and the community. The organization aims to promote the hospice message through a range of community events and activities.

By working towards this purpose, Friends of Hospice strives to ensure that patients and their families receive the best possible care during their end-of-life journey. The organization recognizes that hospice care can be an incredibly challenging time for patients and their loved ones, and aims to provide the necessary resources, information, and support to help them through this difficult time.
