Friends of Hospice San Antonio was organized in 1991 by a small group of volunteers concerned with the availability of hospice services, helping to ensure no one is denied care due to their inability to pay. OVER 5 million dollars has been raised for uninsured/underinsured hospice patients.
Fundraising dollars come from membership dues, grants, memorials, and year-round events and activities. Donations obtained from fundraising events are used to support uninsured and underinsured patients.
Friends of Hospice partners with CHRISTUS Health Foundation. Friends raises money for uninsured/underinsured patients.
Annual Spring Symposium for hospice professionals, caregivers, and interested community members. Speakers Bureau speaks to community groups about hospice-related topics.
A prayer book is available for hospice patients and family members, as well as other interested persons. Friends of Hospice provides refreshments for families attending the annual CHRISTUS VNA Hospice Memorial Service.
